Animations that explore the idea of Global Positioning systems (GPS). GPS is the only fully developed satellite navigation system, though the Europeans are starting to develope their own systems. GPS satellites send out radio timing signals to GPS receivers which allow the GPS receivers to accurately determine their location. GPS also provides precise time reference for various global telecommunications systems.
